About
Would you like to know more about me? Sure! My name is Alexander Dawson (but feel free to call me Alex) and I come from Brighton, in the United Kingdom.
I'm passionate about Web sustainability. I'm a W3C Invited Expert of an Interest Group, the editor and contributor of a draft specification (and its many supplements), and a researcher (and occasional writer) on the subject.
Having invisible disabilities, training, and some experience of working in healthcare, I'm a huge advocate for Web accessibility and will always try to prioritize Inclusive design within anything (app or website) I produce.
Because I've been working on the Web since 1998, I've gained a huge passion for Web standards and semantic code. My working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and the syntax that relate to them (Web Assets and Microdata) is especially solid.
I don't just create, I contribute. The Web community is vast, however, one of my founding principles is to give back as often as I can. Through side projects, writing, mentorship, or community action, I'm often working on something interesting.
During my downtime I enjoy Tennis, playing chess, and watching fantasy films / TV.
